More fun and excitement with the LSAT, but hey, at least we got a better score.

so, yeah, although statistics would say that i'm likely to receive a lower score than i did the first time, therefore making it a bad idea, i retook the LSAT this past saturday with a completely different mindset than the one i had for the june test. no prep, no study, no stress, no worries. actually, on friday evening, i was thinking only that i just didn't feel like getting up to go take the damn thing - because now i'm leaning away from law school and back towards a PhD program. anyway, walking out of the exam i definitely felt better about my performance than i did in june, but since i don't want to piss off the universe with an unnecessary display of hubris, i'm just going to say that i think i did ok, and we'll find out in three weeks how it actually went.
in other news... depeche mode in vegas, baby, vegas! wooo!

happy birthday xian... always good to have other people that are older than me around. =)
on sunday i had a dream that i won powerball. the last time i had a dream about the lottery i was 11 years old, and i remembered the numbers all week but failed to buy a ticket. when the drawing was held, i would have had 5 out of 6 numbers and won about $100,000. so i was determined to not let that happen again. of course, since there hasn't been a post here proclaiming my newfound riches, it looks like this time i just made a donation to the multi-state lottery fund. the winning numbers were supposed to be : 5 8 11 23 27 and 47 - but they weren't. boo.
in music news... i'm not a big fan of apoptygma berzerk, but the new album isn't too bad. some of you that have been into electronica for awhile might remember the song "cambodia" by pulsedriver... apop has done an EBM/synthpop remake. it's pretty good - even though it's quite different from the original, it still brings back memories.
it's coming up on the time when i need to file for graduation or not... deadline is october 17th. do i graduate in december and take japanese 314 in the spring anyway as a grad student, or put it off yet another semester and continue with the language training as an undergrad? or do i just call it all quits, get the degrees, and concentrate on other stuff in the spring - my own projects, figuring out what the fuck to do with my life, the stock market, etc.
woo.

october scores were released today. i got a 171, which brings my average score up to a 169. i was shooting for a 172+ so that my average score would break that psychological barrier of 170, but you know what? i'm not going to complain - i missed two questions per section. that's not too bad, although i'm a little upset that i missed two stupid questions in logic games, which is always my best section, but i made up for it by doing better than usual on logical reasoning.
of course, given that i'm now leaning more towards getting a PhD instead of going to law school, all of this may be completely irrelevant. but it's good to have options. maybe i should go take the GMAT just for the fuck of it.
