Adventures in Microdosing

Adventures in Microdosing

Microdosing (taking sub-threshold doses of LSD as a means to enhance creativity and cognitive processes without actually tripping / getting high) is one of those things that I've been interested in trying out for quite awhile (pretty much ever since I heard about it), but engaging in said activity requires, above all, some LSD to actually consume. Having solved that problem a few weeks ago, and with not much else going on this New Year's Eve, I decided to give it ago.

As of this writing, it is 2109 PST, and I've just dropped some unknown amount of acid. "Unknown amount" - therein lies the rub. When you have liquid, it's usually 100mcg per drop, so titrating that down to a sub-threshold dose (10-25mcg) is pretty easy. I don't have liquid; I have paper. If we assume (and this is, of course, a huge assumption) that the chemical was evenly applied to the paper at a concentration of 100mcg per square, then I think I've consumed roughly 25mcg (I eyeballed it and cut off a small piece). It's possible that I've consumed much, much less than that. It's also possible that I've consumed much, much more.

If, in 45 minutes or so, I am starting to see the dragons in my kitchen, then we will know that I took too much, and rather than having an adventure in microdosing, I will be tripping the light fantastic as the new year rolls in. Of course, if that happens, then I will just go all-in and take the rest of it, because there's no point in having a half-ass psychedelic experience. We want the full ass - in all its glorious colors! =)

On the other hand, if I'm not really feeling anything (which is the goal), then I'm going to work on some creative project - maybe some artwork, maybe my sci-fi novel, who knows - and see if the ideas flow any more easily (or not) than they do otherwise. Or I'll just go to the gym and hit the treadmill. 2017 is a year that's worth running away from. Get it? HA! I kill me. =)

Stay tuned ... Oh, wait, who the fuck am I talking to? The dragons?
